When can I enroll in Medicare?
You’re eligible to enroll during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which begins 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after.
There are also Annual Enrollment Periods (AEP) and Special Enrollment Periods (SEP) depending on your situation.

What happens if I miss my enrollment period?
If you don’t enroll during yourInitial Enrollment Period, you may have to wait until theGeneral Enrollment Period(January 1 through March 31 each year) and you could face a late enrollment penalty.
Certain special situations — such as moving or losing other health coverage — may qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
